An Introduction to Information Technology

More than 90 percent of Australians will need to use some level of digital skills at work within the next five years.

All jobs will increasingly require the basic skills needed to communicate and find information online. Don’t be left behind!

This course is ideal for students looking for an introduction to computers and the employability skills necessary for varying industries. Learn how to:

  • connect to the internet, securely send and receive emails, search the internet using web browsers and interact securely and in a socially responsible manner;
  • use spreadsheet applications, including creating spreadsheets, formatting data, incorporating charts and objects, and printing spreadsheets; and
  • operate a presentation application, including creating, formatting and adding effects to presentations.

This course includes units of competency from the Information and Communications Technology Training Package.

This training will be delivered by Community College Northern Inland Inc. - Registered Training Organisation 90027.

Assessments are made against units of competency from the Certificate I in Information, Digital Media and Technology ICT10115.
  • Operate presentation packages (ICTICT106)
  • Use, communicate and search securely on the internet (ICTICT103)
  • Operate spreadsheet applications (ICTICT105)
