    VET Coordinator

    Community College Northern Inland Inc. (CCNI) is seeking applications from candidates who have a strong commitment to quality, compliance and continuous improvement within the Vocational Education and Training space to fill the role of VET Coordinator (VC).

    The VC is responsible to the Executive Officer (EO) for the day-to-day administration of courses and training provided through Community College Northern Inland Inc. (CCNI), a Registered Training Organisation operating from the regional towns of Barraba, Bingara, Gunnedah, Inverell, Moree, Narrabri and Warialda. The VC may be based in any location within our campuses.

    The VC will, with the EO and the rest of the CCNI team, ensure that CCNI’s practices and behaviours comply with the Standards for RTOs 2015 by providing students with quality outcomes through the five key phases of the student experience - Marketing and Recruitment, Enrolment, Support and Progression, Training and Assessment and, Completion.

    The key performance areas are:

    • Accurate input of AVETMISS data and preparation of reports;
    • In collaboration with the VET Manager and EO – evaluation of courses/development and maintenance of training products;
    • In collaboration with the VET Manager and EO – develop appropriate course/workshop content and assessments;
    • In collaboration with the VET Manager and EO – support maintenance of CCNI’s status as an RTO including additions to scope;
    • In collaboration with local coordinators, EO and VET Manager – schedule courses each term;
    • Management of trainer resources;
    • Course administration support when needed – calling students, printing rolls, enrolment forms, check-off sheets and evaluation forms, organising course materials, collecting payments, liaising with Job Agencies and their clients, checking attendance, data entry, printing certificates and filing.

    In addition, the VC is expected to give adequate attention to the following specific areas:

    • Continuous improvement – all CCNI staff are expected to maintain a proactive approach;
    • Submission of claims for funded courses/students;
    • Development of Training Schedules and Funding Submission in consultation with VET Manager and EO;
    • Purchase of training resources;
    • Support trainers to meet funding requirements/deadlines.

    Selection Criteria – Essential

    • Well-developed personal and written communication skills;
    • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite;
    • Demonstrated professional and enthusiastic manner;
    • Ability to work as part of a team;
    • Ability to work unsupervised;
    • Accurate data entry with a strong attention to detail;
    • Current Driver’s Licence;
    • Understanding of Fair Work Act;
    • Understanding of WH&S legislation;
    • Agreement to undertake a Police Check and Working with Children Check;
    • Demonstrated experience in an administration position in an RTO;
    • Demonstrated staff management and supervision skills;
    • Evidence of ability to meet competing priorities, time management skills and attention to detail;
    • Demonstrated experience in RTO registration and compliance under ASQA;
    • Cert IV accredited qualification in Training & Assessment.


    Selection Criteria – Desirable

    • Ability to analyse data.

    Selection Criteria – Essential

    • Fully qualified in relevant industry;
    • Experience in training with strong interest in writing and developing training programs;
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
    • Hold the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or a diploma or higher level qualification in adult education;
    • Current Driver’s Licence;
    • Car with comprehensive insurance;
    • Understanding of Fair Work Act;
    • Understanding of WH&S legislation;
    • Current working with children check;
    • National police clearance certificate.
