Beekeeping for beginners

Beekeeping for beginners

Come along to a weekend Apiary Workshop for beginner beekeepers.

The instructor Bruce White, OAM is a retired Technical Specialist Apiculture NSW Department of Primary Industries. This workshop will be conducted over two days and you will receive training from an expert beekeeper with the opportunity to handle live bees as well as learn the theory behind good beekeeping practices.

Safety requirements:
For your own safety you will be required to wear a long sleeve shirt (lightweight if hot), long pants tucked into socks and covered shoes. You will also need to bring a wide brimmed hat with a mosquito net covering your head and neck and clean cloth gloves. You must not wear perfumes, scented sprays and lotions or aftershave to the workshop as these scents annoy the bees.

Course Fee includes Learner Resource pack with DPI “Bee Agskills” workbook to source bees and equipment; as well as light refreshments and lunch both days.

This course has no current classes. Please the waiting list.
