The Empowering Our Communities Program

  • In 2019, Community College Northern Inland supported their community by offering fee-free places in a range of leisure classes at campuses throughout the region. These places were funded by the Hunter New England and Central Coast Primary Health Network under the Australian Government Empowering Our Communities initiative. This program gives communities the opportunity to tailor mental health responses to local needs in communities struggling with drought.

The impact of drought is known to extend well beyond farmers and their families in rural communities.

  • Hunter New England and Central Coast Primary Health Network and community organisations talk about community initiatives to relieve drought-related stress.
