CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support - Disability Specialisation

CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support - Disability Specialisation

If you've ever considered a career in disability support, then now is the time to get qualified. With a qualification in Individual Support you'll gain the skills to work effectively in community care and residential facilities to provide individualised care to people who need support due to ageing, disability or other reasons.

This qualification replaces CHC30212 Aged Care, CHC30312 Home & Community Care and CHC30408 Disability.

This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community care and/or residential facilities who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who require support due to ageing, disability or other reasons. To complete this qualification, students must complete at least 120 hours of work experience in a residential aged care facility to allow all competencies to be assessed on-the-job.

There is a need for a Federal Police Criminal Record check in all aged care and disability organisations and for all roles. The College recommends all prospective students obtain a Police Record Check prior to commencement to ensure any industry visits can be undertaken and access to workplaces approved.

Additional costs for students enrolling in this course include:

  • National Criminal Record Check (approx) $55 paid direct to NSW Police;
  • Purchase of two CCNI work shirts for work placement at a cost of (approx) $50.

Total number of units = 13 consisting of 7 core units and 6 elective units to obtain 1 specialisation qualification.
