CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability

CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability

This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of community settings and clients' homes, who provide training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.

To achieve this qualification, the students must have completed at least 120 hours of on-the-job work at the Certificate IV level to enable all units to be assessed in the workplace.

There is a need for a Federal Police Criminal Record check in all aged care and disability organisations and for all roles. The College recommends all prospective students obtain a Police Record Check prior to commencement to ensure any industry visits can be undertaken and access to workplaces approved.

Core and elective units

Total number of units = 14 consisting of 11 core units and 3 elective units.

There are a broad range of elective units which can be selected according to workplace needs. The College is willing to negotiate and deliver units in negotiation with employers. The suggested units are:
