Chemical User Training - Refresher

Chemical user training is required by law for any person using chemicals as part of their work, including farmers, spraying contractors, nursery workers, grounds keepers and local government employees.

This course covers units:

  • AHCCHM307 Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases; and
  • AHCCHM304 Transport and store chemicals.

Enrol in this course to learn the skills and knowledge required to:

  • safely prepare and apply chemicals for the control of pests, weeds and diseases, using general application equipment
  • and;
  • safely handle, transport and store chemicals.


Learning Outcomes

  • Determine the need for chemical use and prepare an application plan.
  • Prepare chemical mixes.
  • Calibrate application equipment.
  • Apply chemicals.
  • Clean up equipment and complete records.
  • Prepare to handle and transport chemicals.
  • Handle and transport chemicals.
  • Store chemicals in the workplace.
  • Record storage details.

Chemical User Certificates are valid for 5 years.


Pre-requisites for units

Participants must hold a current Chemical User qualification that has not yet expired and bring this to be sighted by the trainer on the day of the course.

This training is delivered and assessed by Coates Hospitality Services, trading as Australian Training & Consulting (ATAC) RTO 90886. On successful completion of the training program, the nationally recognised Statements of Attainment AHCCHM307 Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases and AHCCHM304 Transport and store chemicals will be issued to students assessed as competent by ATAC.
