Health and Safety Representative (HSR) 5-day SafeWork NSW approved Training

This course is designed for elected Health and Safety Representatives, Health and Safety committee members, managers and supervisors or anyone within an organisation who has an interest in Work Health & Safety.

The HSR course will provide elected HSR members with information and skills under the new Work Health & Safety Act and provide representatives with an understanding of the requirements and how it applies to them and their workplace.


Course Content

Day 1: Interpreting the WHS legislative framework and identifying key parties and their legislative obligations and duties

Day 2: Establishing representation in the workplace under the WHS Act

Day 3: Effective consultation: Participation in issue resolution and monitoring risk controls as a HSR

Day 4: Monitoring PCBUs' management of work health and safety: workplace inspections, recording findings and 'notifiable incidents'

Day 5: Issuing a Provisional Improvement Notice (PIN) and directing the cessation of unsafe work.


This training will be delivered and assessed by Coates Hospitality Services, trading as Australian Training & Consulting (ATAC) RTO 90886.


Need a Refresher?

If you wish to do the stand-alone Refresher course, you must provide proof that you have previously completed the 5-day HSR course in the form of the original course certificate issued by the SafeWork NSW ATP.
