Next Steps - Preparing for Work

Prepare to get the job by undertaking your own skills analysis and practise how to sell your arsenal of knowledge!

During this course, students will study the unit of competency BSBITU306 Design and produce business documents from the Business Services Training Package.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to design and produce various business documents and publications. It includes selecting and using a range of functions on a variety of computer applications.

Learn how to:

  • Select and use appropriate technology and software applications to produce business documents;
  • Design documents, identifying, opening and generating files and records according to task and organisational requirements;
  • Produce documents, completing document production within designated timelines according to organisational requirements;
  • Finalise documents, including proofreading the document for readability, accuracy and consistency of language, style and layout prior to final output and printing.
Students will also undertake non-accredited training including:
  • Form writing
  • Greetings and responses
  • Interview techniques
  • Preparing for the workplace
  • Work with diversity.

This training will be delivered by Community College Northern Inland Inc. - Registered Training Organisation 90027.

Assessments are made against units of competency.
