Foundations Program

The Foundation Skills Program

  • Community College Northern Inland is committed to supporting students of all ages and backgrounds to build confidence and improve their ability to be successful in their study and employment. The Foundation Skills Program explores the core competencies we all need in our work and daily lives.

The college runs ongoing foundation skills classes that focus on language, literacy and numeracy, and employability skills such as teamwork, problem solving, self-management, digital literacy and using technology – all key skills required for success in both training and the workplace.

Anyone can have difficulty with foundation skills. The Foundation Skills Training Package (FSK) has been developed to provide more support and deliver better outcomes for learners and trainers alike.

Foundation Skills qualifications are designed to provide the foundation skills required for entry-level vocational training and employment.

  • Eligible students will be fully funded by the NSW Government through the Department of Industry and Training Services NSW.

At Community College Northern Inland flexibility is at the core of everything we do. We offer students learning options that will support them, giving them the confidence they need to complete their training. The college will offer Certificate I and II from the Foundation Skills Training Package with both flexible programs designed to support people undertaking other training.

These courses are ideal for people looking for work and people wanting to study for the first time.
