Sustainability Workshops a Success

Bingara Campus Paddock to PlateStudents throughout the region interested in a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle have given the thumbs up to Bingara Community College’s latest course ‘Exploring Opportunities in the Paddock to Plate Movement’.

Course participant Tania Robins said, "I find this course amazing. The field work has really helped in my own little veggie garden, thanks Steve. Then we have Friedy showing us how to use them in our own homes. I would highly recommend this course – it is really energising."

Responding to a growing interest in sustainable living, Exploring Opportunities in the Paddock to Plate Movement increases employability skills through the delivery of career planning, communication and digital skills training while giving students hands-on experience applying design thinking to solve sustainability challenges and to plan projects that work toward a greener home and work environment.

Classes have combined horticulture and hospitality, with gardening at Bingara’s Living Classroom and culinary classes at the Roxy Trade Training kitchen, in an innovative new program that will continue during term 2.
