Takeaway Gardening

  • Have you ever wanted to try your hand at gardening or growing your own food but didn’t know where to start?

    This innovative new program offers participants the chance to make their own portable garden bed and learn about composting and chemical free gardening while gaining practical skills to prepare for further study or employment. Lessons will include:

    • how to compost;
    • creating a worm farm;
    • creating living soil; and
    • growing chemical-free food.

    This course involves easy hands-on outdoor exercise and will include activities at the Inverell Community Gardens and in partnership with this active urban Landcare Group. Find pleasure, ease and fun in contributing to something bigger than yourself.

    Takeaway GardeningThis course draws on Units of Competency from the Foundation Skills Training Package. Training will develop the skills participants already hold and build confidence to explore work-related ideas and pathways.
