  • If you like the idea of learning how to grow and cook your own food to save money, improve your health and become more self-sufficient, then this course is for you!

Exploring Opportunities in the Paddock to Plate Movement offers a unique opportunity to anyone interested in learning how to lead a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle. This course focuses on horticulture in an innovative program aimed at people who want to:

    • save money by learning how to grow and cook their own food
    • do something positive for the environment—starting economically and sustainably in their own backyard
    • develop job ready skills that could be used in a wide range of horticultural and farming pursuits or workplaces
    • explore green food business opportunities—like supplying local shops with quality, organic produce.

  • Trainer-entrepreneur Steve Bigg will lead students through an inspiring program that includes hands-on gardening at Bingara’s Living Classroom. The theory component of the training will be held at Bingara Community College.

This course draws on Units of Competency from the FSK20113 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways. Training will develop the skills participants already hold and build confidence to explore work-related ideas and pathways.
