Employment Allrounder - Community Services Basics
This course bundle prepares workers for employment by developing the core skills required to operate effectively in a range of community services contexts. Classes are scheduled to run in campus over 8 days.
This specialised training program prepares workers for employment by teaching them how to:
- work with the carers and families of people using a range of community services based on their support needs;
- provide advanced first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, in a range of situations, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.
This program also includes the non-accredited training:
- Use Digital Devices - Learn how to use a range of digital devices (CSO202026 Use Digital Devices).
- Personal Presentation - 1-day workshop with guest speaker and options to develop personal presentation style (CSO202019 Personal presentation in the workplace). Understand the importance of presentation ensuring that organisational standards are being met.
- Resume Building - 1-day workshop with tips on what to include in a resume and how to address selection criteria (CSO202008 Create your own Resume). Write a professional resume that will get an employer’s attention by identifying the correct information to include and how to address the selection criteria.

What to bring
First Aid - This course includes the Unit of Competency HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation. As part of the assessment for this unit, students will need to kneel on the floor and undertake two demonstrations of CPR (each a 4 minute duration) in order for the Trainer/Assessor to sign off competency for CPR. You will need to bring a clean towel to kneel upon for the floor work.
