Employment Allrounder - Inland Rail Basics

Inland Rail is a game-changer for our region that’s generating thousands of local jobs and significantly boosting local business investment.

We’re here to help you make the most of the Inland Rail opportunity with a course bundle designed to provide workers with the essential skills required to work on the Inland Rail project. Classes are scheduled to run in campus over 4 days.

This specialised training program prepares workers for employment by teaching them how to:

• identify health and safety legislative requirements of construction work including correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used;
• communicate effectively with team members in the context of the work environment;
• take safety precautions to enter the rail corridor, including accessing the danger zone, and responding appropriately in an emergency; and
• provide advanced first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, in a range of situations, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

On successful completion of the program students must obtain a CATEGORY 3 Medical (Track Safety Health Assessment). Rail safety workers who work on or near the track but not in a Controlled Environment (Category 3 workers) require a mandatory Track Safety Health Assessment. Pre-requisites for participation in Employment Allrounder - Inland Rail Basics

• Age minimum: 16 years of age;
• High risk courses: Students need to wear long pants, long shirt and enclosed shoes to the course;
• First Aid: This is a one-day course based on pre-reading and completion of a workbook before attendance at the course. The workbook will be available when you enrol or can be downloaded and printed at home. Download the Workbook. This workbook contains the theory students need to know before attending face-to-face training. The face-to-face training will focus on the practical skills and assessment. Students are required to read the workbook and attempt the revision questions. The completed workbook should be handed to the course Trainer/Assessor at the commencement of class.

Evidence of Identity is required for enrolment in this course - see guidelines below

• On enrolment, students are required to show campus staff original Evidence of Identity (EOI) documents that add up to at least 100 points.
• On the day of training, students are required to show the RTO delegate (trainer) the same (original) Evidence of Identity (EOI) documents that add up to at least 100 points.
• Within these documents the applicant must be able to show a photo, date of birth, signature and current residential address.

Some documents you can use to provide your Evidence of Identity (EOI) can include:

• Australian birth certificate;
• Australian drivers licence;
• Medicare card;
• ATM card;
• utilities bill.

This training is delivered by Community College Northern Inland Inc. RTO 90027. On successful completion of the training program, the nationally recognised Statements of Attainment TLIE1003 Participate in basic workplace communication, HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation, HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support, HLTAID003 Provide First Aid and CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry will be issued to students assessed as competent by Community College Northern Inland.
The accredited unit TLIF0020 Safely access the rail corridor is delivered and assessed by the issuing Registered Training Organisation: Accell Pty Ltd RTO 32213.
This course also includes the non-accredited unit CSO202025 Access online services. This unit is delivered by Community College Northern Inland (RTO 90027) to provide wraparound support to students completing the online training TLIF0020 Safely access the rail corridor delivered as part of the course by Accell Pty Ltd - RTO 32213.
